Questions
Answers
- What do I need to start KAP or BAP?
A kite or a balloon, a line, a camera in some kind for rig and something to tell the camera to take a picture.
- What is the best kite for KAP?
There is no best KAP kite. Basicly you can use any kite, but some are better than others. They are more stable.
Than it depends on the weight of your rig&camera (you have influence on this) and the wind (that you have to take as it comes, or not).
The kites in KAPshop are all proven to be good for KAP. But there are other options too: the Sanjo Rokkaku, the Delta-Conyne, the Cody, the V13 and more.
- What is a GentLED?
Developed originally for Kite Aerial Photography, this tiny device can be used to trigger the shutter of a digital camera for 101 uses. Whether the camera is in a kite, a model aircraft, a micro-light, on your head, or simply remote from the operator, the GentLED simplifies operation.
But the GentLED can only work if the camera has a infrared sensor of an (optional) IR remote control. Fortunately many of the good manufacturers (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, etc.) have this feature on several models.
For the Nikon Coolpix cameras that can work with the Nikon MC-EU1 wired remote control (like the 885, 995, 4300, 4500, 5000, 5700 and 8700), there is a special GentLED: the GentLED Serial.
- What is a SchiSwi (or Schieppati Switch)?
The SchiSwi is an electronical switch that is triggered by the servo signal from a remote control receiver.
In KAP it can be used on cameras that will work with an external switching remote control.
